Despite Perry’s exploration of diverse mediums, the recurring theme of the body—and the implication of a drifting human presence transforming into a “figure of absence”—remains central to his practice. The body, stripped to its simplest outline, is presented without markers of gender or sexuality. Instead, Perry focuses on an anonymous, often headless form, reminiscent of a prop. This abstraction invites viewers to engage with the body not as a defined identity, but as a vessel capable of storing meaning, and challenging conventional perceptions of intimacy and form.
